Housing Tips for Erasmus Students

Start Early

The best rooms get taken fast. Start looking at least 2 months before your arrival. September and February are the busiest months.

Visit Before You Rent

Always visit the apartment in person or ask for a video call tour. Photos can be misleading, and you want to meet your future housemates.

Check the Contract

Make sure you understand the lease terms. In Portugal, most student rentals are 9-12 months. Ask about the deposit and notice period.

Location Matters

Living near Polo I or Polo II saves you daily commuting. The city center (Baixa) is great for nightlife but can be noisy.
